The TEMUL group officially launched their new analytical transmission electron microscope this June. After introductions from the University
of Limerick President, Prof Des Fitzgerald and the Dean of Science Prof Edmond Magner, speakers from across the world filled the afternoon with fascinating, cutting edge microscopy. Speakers, who were gifted a Lego model of the TEMUL Titan, included Prof Stephen Donnelly (University of Huddersfield, UK), Prof Rafal Dunin-Borkowski (ER-C, FZ Juelich, Germany), Prof Rik Brydson (Leeds University & SuperSTEM), Prof Eva Olsson (Chalmers University, Sweden), Prof Dwayne Miller, (Max Planck Institute, Germany), and Prof Louisa Meshi, (Ben Gurion University, Israel). The attendees and speakers were then given a tour of the universities facilities and a demonstration of the Titan microscope's capabilities.
